Namaste Doing Yoga is designed to help enhance your yoga practice, no matter what level you are. For those of you that perhaps cannot find the time to go to a yoga studio or are not comfortable in a class environment setting, this is the perfect place to get a wide range of at home classes. If you already have an advanced practice, there’s plenty for you too! There will be tons of tutorial videos and photos from the simplest of poses to the most advanced transitions. There will also be sequences for Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Poweflow, and Vinyasa Flow classes. There will be some fun videos of partner yoga including acro yoga poses later down the line. I can’t wait to hear from you all and be a part of your journey!
Aside from the typical yoga videos I will include background information on all the health issues and injuries I’ve battled and how yoga has helped me through it all. My degree is in Chemistry and I work as a fragrance chemist during the day, yoga teacher by night. I will be giving you tons of information on essential oils, how to buy the proper ones if you’re interested and the uses of these oils. To top it all off I am currently enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become a health coach. After these classes I will be getting a Masters of Science in Nutrition and Wellness. The goal is to combine my passion for science, helping others, wellness and yoga all into one career. It is a long path but I am so excited to have you on it with me.
The greatest part of yoga is that it is a self journey. It is not about the person next to you, your friends, or that girl in class who can put her leg over her head. Even if you are breathing right you are doing yoga! When I first started I could not even bend down and touch my toes; with practice and dedication you can do anything your heart desires. What you think you create, so let your thoughts stay positive and remember you CAN do it!
Something I always remind my students of is this:
“The goal is not the yoga pose. Becoming flexible and standing on your hands is not the goal. The goal is to create space where you were once stuck. To unveil the layers of protection you’ve built around your heart. To appreciate your body and become aware of the mind and the noise it creates. To make peace with who you are. The goal is to love, well… You. Come to your yoga mat to feel; not to accomplish. Shift your focus and your heart will grow.”
Namaste and let the journey begin!
